Circadian Lighting by Lutron
At CEDIA, we saw home lighting displays by Lutron simulate sunrise and sunset to synch to our circadian rhythms. The idea is that by living with natural light inside your home, you’ll receive a better night’s sleep and feel less irritated and fatigued during the day. In the home automation world, human-centric lighting has been buzzed about steadily for the past year. We predict that we’ll see more smart lighting with an emphasis on wellness in homes this year and that soon it will become much more commonplace to use circadian lighting.
Epson’s 4K Ultra-Short Throw Laser Projection
For a larger-than-TV image without installing a projector, Epson has a new alternative. Debuted at CEDIA, the Epson LS-500 is a laser projection TV in 4K that projects just inches from the screen on the wall. Ultra-short throw projection can deliver up to 130 inches to your wall while sitting as close as a DVD player would be to your TV. Its ambient light-rejecting technology means that images will be more comfortable to see even in daylight. With more ways to stream TV than ever, we also predict that homeowners will have more display choices than ever, from OLED TVs to wall panel screens and short-throw projectors.
Sony Crystal LED Display
While it may not be for everyone, there’s never been a screen like this before. Sony showed off it’s $1 million 16K Crystal LED display at CEDIA, which is now available for homeowners. The Crystal LED can be made to your specification but was on display at a whopping 16x9 feet. And at 16K, we’ve never seen such a large and clear image in a home. MicroLED has been heralded as the future of TV, and we’re excited to see what’s to come in Austin homes this year.
